  • InPrivate, No One Can See You Wank

This may be old news to some of you, but apparently Microsoft has put a feature in IE 8 (currently in beta) called ‘InPrivate‘. It lets you browse without saving any history, cookies, or other information. Good for security, but also for your porn habits. Theoretically speaking, of course. H/T to Gizmodo.

  • I'm Gonna Sink This Bitch

If you’ve never seen Mystery Science Theater 3000, you owe it to your funny bone to check out these clips, and then click/buy some Rifftrax from the occasional ad on the right. Big McLargehuge!

  • Hulu has Highlander!

Okay, one single solitary time where advertising on a website worked on me…I clicked on an ad (at Facebook) and yes, Hulu does indeed have the entire run of Highlander: The Series! SWEET!

  • Lucas is Meddlesome

Jeffrey Katzenberg, speaking to ComingSoon.net, revealed that Darth Lucas is ‘investing in technology’ to turn the Star Wars movies 3D. My favorite bit: Katzenberg remarked in the interview that Lucas “isn’t going to put a product out, I think, that isn’t anything other than first rate.” Yeah, EP1 was first rate, all right. UGH.

  • Why…so…SERIOUS?

As you might guess from the title, I saw The Dark Knight. I managed to stay remarkably spoiler-free beforehand, so there were some twists I was NOT expecting. Great movie, but I’ll keep the real details for after the jump (to help keep others unspoiled)…

  • xkcd – Babies

I know I felt like this when we first had my son (well, I didn’t want to disassemble him. I’m not so good with tools). Click on the picture to go to xkcd.com and get the alt-texty goodness. And read the archive if you haven’t, what are you waiting for?

  • Buffalo Homecoming

Stepping away from the NHL draft and other nerdity for a moment, I’d like to point out (both for locals and potential visitors alike) that June 26-29 is Buffalo Homecoming, a yearly event to highlight what there is to like about Buffalo. June 26th is dedicated to the city’s varied eateries, and folks are encouraged…

  • Wordle

Wordle is a site that’s making the blog-rounds. The site has a Java applet where you can put in a bunch of text (or your del.icio.us tags) and makes tag clouds out of them, with multiple font/color options. I made on of the headers on my site with it, and there are some really interesting…

  • Hulk SMASH

I went to see The Incredible Hulk over the weekend (twice, in fact). I enjoyed it quite a bit, although Iron Man is still my movie of the year so far. I only read Hulk comics when I got ’em in the multipacks I bought, but I enjoyed what I read of Peter David’s run.…

  • Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

I went to see Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull last night. I thought it was pretty good, say B- or C+ grade-wise. I enjoyed it, and don’t feel as if it was a waste of money, which is good considering how much it costs to go to a movie nowadays. There…

  • For the Good of the World: Cadbury VS Boll

In a fit of awesomeness, Cadbury Adams’ Stride brand gum has thrown it’s support behind the Stop Uwe Boll effort. Movie City indie has the details. On April 4, 2008, Uwe Boll remarked to legendary horror site FearNet that he’d consider acquiescing to his critics and abandoning making films in this genre if an online…

  • 10 Terrible TV Shows

The blog mental_floss has a neat top 10 list: 10 T.V. Shows Canceled After One Episode. It really goes to show just how bad a show has to be to get cancelled after a single episode. One, Australia’s Naughtiest Home Videos, was cancelled mid-episode. That site is very cool, by the way, if you like…
