Bills Have A Potential Suitor?

From WIVB by way (oddly enough) of Kukla’s Korner:

Jeremy Jacobs tells Business First he “might” be interested in the Bills IF the team was for sale.

Jacobs says under the current NFL rules, he can’t own the Bills because he owns an NHL team in a market that has a pro football team.

Can someone explain to me why they have that rule?  Does that mean Golisano couldn’t buy the Bills (his name is always bandied about when it comes up, not that he’s ever said he would do it)?  Calls to Delaware North for comment went unreturned;  calls to One Bills Drive had Ralph Wilson asking about the score of the Brooklyn Dodgers game, before he hung up excitedly as his jello was delivered.

Sabres and Bills Stuff

I’ve been offline for a few days thanks to my parents being in town (and having a huge birthday party for my son and my daughter’s Christening), but if you are looking for recent Buffalo sports news, Kevin and dave in rocha over at BfloBlog have been doing some excellent work.  Every Team Is Awesome But Ours dispels the MSM mindset that every other team in the NHL has things going their way more than the Sabres.  “Long-term Contracts” rebuts the minor but oft-repeated point about the Sabres being ‘cheap’.  Finally, Who’s the Dummy Now? gives Ralph Wilson (Buffalo Bills owner) some love for speaking out against the NFL CBA back in ‘06, the one the owners just unanimously voted to opt-out of.  I’ll be back soon with my look at the Stanley Cup finals and any other cool stuff I missed while throwing down a huge carnival B-Day party for my boy.
