Carcillo VS Dorsett - BADASS
Nov 28, 2008 NHL
Click through to YouTube to see it in High Quality mode. If you like hockey fights at ALL, you owe to yourself to watch this one, despite the teams featured (Columbus and Phoenix). Huge bombs were getting landed by both guys, just when you thought one was taking control, the other would come over the top and start landing. Good job, boys. H/T to Hockeyfights.

Oh Man
Nov 15, 2008 NHL
That was tough to watch last night…Lalime didn’t do himself any favors on a few of those goal, but in other cases, he got NO help. Why was Peters in the lineup if not to take on Boll, by the way? Put Kaleta back in if that’s what we’re going to get from Petey.
Positives? Timmy played. I thought Teppo had a decent night (he and Lydman were the ‘best’ pairing, at only -1, but of course that is when Lalime slid the puck behind the net and Loods didn’t notice). *sigh* Let’s just move on, as the Penguins are tonight’s opponent. Hope the boys are a bit more ready for this one.

Abbreviated Gameday - Blue Jackets at Sabres
Nov 14, 2008 NHL
Looks like Lalime plays tonight, and Miller tomorrow. Kaleta is sitting for the second straight game. The big (non-Sabres) news is the firing of Barry Melrose in Tampa. Not many people thought that would work, and it didn’t. We’ll see if Tocchet can do any better.

More Updates
Nov 13, 2008 NHL
Teppo is back on the Leaderboard (as of now), check it out:
Keep up the good work! We’ll see what happens when/if the voting irregularities get sorted. For now, my goal is to keep Teppo above Ward and then take out Gonchar (who won’t be playing anyway).
In other news, Tim Connolly has a bruised chest (no kidding!) and is day to day. John Vogl noted the lines today thusly:
Thomas Vanek-Derek Roy-Ales Kotalik
Jochen Hecht-Clarke MacArthur-Jason Pominville
Daniel Paille-Adam Mair-Drew Stafford
Andrew Peters-Paul Gaustad-Patrick Kaleta/Maxim Afinogenov
Not too bad. Obviously I don’t mind Peters in the lineup against a Ken Hitchcock team with guys like Boll potentially in the lineup.

Arena League 2 Team to Buffalo?
May 25, 2008 Sports
There was a short note at WGR550.com about this…the report is Buffalo will be getting an AF2 team. No other details at this point, but for a city that already lost a real Arena League team to Columbus, and might just lose their NFL team to wherever, this can’t feel good. At least AF2 doesn’t have Bon Jovi and John Elway hanging around all the time.

Mar 30, 2008 NHL
A nice long fight, and a good test to ensure the video posting plugin still works. :)

Deadline Day - Part 2
Feb 26, 2008 NHL
This day has seen the end of Campbell, but will it soon see the end of any other Sabres?
1:01pm: D Adam Foote to the Avalanche, Jackets get a Conditional pick (and another if Foote resigns?).
1:11pm: F Sergei Fedorov to Washington for Blue Jackets D Theo Ruth.
1:30pm: D Rob Davison goes to the Isles for a Sharks 7th round pick.
1:36pm: Canucks get F Matt Pettinger from the Capitals for F Matt Cooke. Caps are the big movers so far today.
2:45pm: So…is this it then?
2:50pm: D Christian Backman of the Blues to the Rangers for a 4th round pick.
2:51pm: D Hal Gill to the Penguins, Leafs get a 2nd and a 5th.
2:56pm: Here’s the boom: F Marian Hossa and F Pascal Dupuis (great name to say) to the Penguins, with the Thrash getting F Colby Armstrong, F Erik Christensen, F Angelo Esposito and a 1st rounder in return.
Deals can still go through after the deadline, sort of like sending mail that has to be postmarked by a certain time: as long as the deal is at the league office now, you are good.
3:11pm: Islanders send jerkwad F Chris Simon to the Wild for a 6th round pick.
3:20ish: Red Wings get D Brad Stuart for the Kings 2nd and 4th rounders.
3:25pm: Rangers get F Fredrik Sjostrom, G David Leneveu and F Josh Gratton, Coyotes get the other Hossa (Marcel, a forward) and goalie superprospect Al Montoya.
3:26pm: Leafs trade F Chad Kilger to the Panthers for a 3rd rounder.
3:30pm: Two deals by the Ducks, trading for Kings G JS Aubin (Miller’s opponent in those AMP commercials), giving up a 7th round pick, and getting D Marc-Andre Bergeron from the Isles for a 3rd.
Cleaning up the late deals…Washington gets F Alexandre Giroux from the Thrash for F Joe Motzko. Nashville gets F Jan Hlavac from the Lightning for a 7th round pick.
