Boring site stuff
If you happen to read this on February 28th, you notice that my new feature Time Machine (left sidebar, towards the bottom) shows that a year ago I took a look at The Kaleta!’s skill at drawing penalties from opposing teams. You wouldn’t expect a game against a pathetic last-place team to matter much, but boy do the Sabres sure need these 2 points. Buffalo clings to the 8th and final playoff spot in the east only due to a tiebreaker win over the Hurricanes. Pittsburgh finally gained a bit and sit one point back. No [...] NHL
…and he didn’t suck in the slightest, losing in a shootout (where none of the Sabres scored) and allowing only one goal in 65 minutes. According to Lindy Ruff (via the Buffalo News), Patrick Lalime awoke last night with flu symptoms and did not practice today. He is questionable for tomorrow night’s game. The (hopefully brief) Patrick Lalime era begins tonight, as the Ducks visit the Sabres for a 7pm game at the Arena. Lalime was actually in net against Anaheim on the west coast swing, losing 3-2 but stopping 34 of 37 shots. He’s played well enough against the Ducks (2.4 GAA, .916 SP) so this might [...] Media

I wanted to get the pictures up (especially for cute kid pictures), so I’m tossing these up with little commentary. Thomas and his cousins visited the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh and the Carnegie Museum of Natural History (also in Pittsburgh) this weekend. …but I will admit to some nerves. I go away for a weekend, and Miller gets hurt. I knew Mattie was a good luck charm, but had no idea that their luck would be so bad without her. I was in Pittsburgh as I mentioned Thursday, and didn’t get to see either the Flyers game [...] NHL
Buffalo travels to Philly tonight to take on the Flyers, and should have Paul Gaustad in the lineup. That means Nathan “the E is NOT silent’ Gerbe is back in Portland.
