Not Him AGAIN

Favre is about to pull a Jordan and un-retire, thus rendering ESPN unwatchable for the next month.  Had to laugh at this tidbit from tWWL:

75-1 Buffalo Bills: The Bills appear committed to the young Trent Edwards. Favre would be an upgrade at this point, sure. But the Bills are not close to being a Super Bowl contender, and developing Edwards should be the priority.

Yes, they went through and figured out the odds on Favre joining every team.  UGH.  Please end this now.

Fantasy Football 08

For any interested parties, I’ve fired up the official Honk if you Love Justice! fantasy football league over at Yahoo.  Anyone who reads this who was in last year should already have an invite, but if not, let me know.  If anyone new wants in, just leave a comment for this post with your actual email and you’ll get an invite.

NHL Nerdity - Roster Limits

Jay Levin has an article up at the Nashville Predators’s site going into detail about the NHL’s roster limit rules.  If you ever wondered how many players could be under contract, how they keep track of signed versus unsigned as far as limits, exceptions for college players, check it out.  Pretty interesting.  It’s all part of a series they will be running about the parts of the CBA.

Solar Upgrades

Researchers at MIT have figured out a way to increase the effectiveness of existing solar panels (or create solar power from windows).  Here’s a description from the article on just what is happening:

The dye-based organic solar concentrator functions without the use of tracking or cooling systems, greatly reducing the overall cost compared to other concentrator technologies. Dye molecules coated on glass absorb sunlight, and re-emit it at a different wavelengths. The light is trapped and transported within the glass until it is captured by solar cells at the edge. Some light passes through the concentrator and can be absorbed by lower voltage solar cells underneath.

It really seems like alternative energy stuff is picking up speed, which is fantastic.  Very cool.  H/T to Gizmodo.
