It Was Just One Game, Right?Fittingly for the season, the Sabres laid an egg on Friday, losing to the Leafs 4-1. Vanek was the lone goal scorer, as the team made Toskala look good with 35 saves. The powerplay was anemic, going 1 for 8 despite a parade of Leafs to the box (including significant 5 on 3 time). To make matters worse, Philly put some distance on the Sabres, and Washington jumped back up above them as well. The target is now Boston, who the Sabres play twice yet. Unfortunately, they also still have 2 games each with Montreal and Ottawa. This team needs points in a hurry or it will all slip away. |
