Teppo Shut Down For 2 More Months

My son will be crushed! Teppo Numminen is likely out for the season after finding out that his chest needs more time to heal. He went to the Cleveland Clinic for a checkup last week and the docs studied the results from there. Numminen had been working out with the team for a while, and there was even speculation at the Ice Bowl that he was only 10 days away from playing. Now, his timetable would be for a mid-March return, when the season ends April 5. Unless they Sabres make the playoffs, which is not a guarantee right now. This would’ve been the 19th NHL season for the Finnish defenseman. Personally, I hope we see Teppo again. He was always the steady one of the Kalinin/Numminen pairing, and he’s a good interview (WGR: Is Teppo a popular name in Finland? Teppo: It is now.). Get well, Teppo. My son asks about you every game!
