Exploding Head Syndrome
Oct 24, 2007 Life
No, I’m not making that up. There is an actual medical condition called Exploding Head Syndrome. (get your minds out of the gutter, people).
Exploding head syndrome is a condition first reported by a British physician in 1988 that causes the sufferer to occasionally experience a tremendously loud noise as if from within his or her own head, usually described as an explosion, roar or a ringing noise. This usually occurs within an hour or two of falling asleep, but is not the result of a dream and can happen during the day as well.
I can’t imagine how freaked out that could make someone. Thanks, mack.
TasteBook - Make Your Own Cookbook
Cruising the usual blags today, and came across TasteBook. You can create a customized cookbook (professional looking, mind you) with a mix of your own recipes, and ones taken from epicurious.com. I am thinking that sort of thing would be a neat gift for the amateur chefs of the world.

Gameday - Sabres/Hurricanes
Oct 24, 2007 NHL
The script is flipped from last year for this matchup of two teams making the most of the ‘New’ NHL. The Canes come in red hot, 5-1-3 while the Sabres have been very inconsistent so far. The lighter, quicker Cam Ward is 5-0-2 although he’s always had problems against Buffalo. On the bright side, Jaroslav Spacek could be back in the lineup, giving the Power Play a much needed boost (1 for 11 in the past two losses).
A friend of mine bumped into Drew Stafford the other day, and he and the rest of the team are angry at themselves for their performance so far. Hopefully that fire will burn into this game and the boys will get right against their recent rival.
Out of market folks can watch the game on Yahoo.

Toews - Early Frontrunner for Goal of the Year
Oct 24, 2007 NHL
This is just insane…19 year old Jonathan Toews (sounds like tayvs, might want to get that one down) splits the D and fakes out Jose Theodore for a beautiful goal.

They Said It - The First!
Oct 24, 2007 NFL, They Said It
On occasion, I come across from folks that just strike me as funny. I’ll note them here, with the They Said It tag.
I think it’s a great thing. Actually I’m kind of excited. They told me I tweaked my oblique, which is awesome because I didn’t know I had any obliques.
