Kamikaze Squirrel

A kamikaze squirrel set a New Jersey woman’s car on fire this past week.  It’s almost too awesome of a headline to believe.  Needs video.

Tony Millar says his sister was fully insured.

“It’s something to laugh about once she has a new car,” he said. “It’s not funny yet.”

Oh, I don’t know about that.

Lifehacker’s Power Traveler’s Checklist

Lifehacker has 2 parts posted of their Power Traveler’s Checklist, which is an awesome list of web sites, tips and tricks that will make travel (especially air travel) MUCH easier.  Part 1 is all about preparation, including finding the best fare prices and how to pack effectively.  Part 2 is about the travel day itself, checking your itinerary, bugging your flaky ride to the airport, and powering your gadgety gear even without the usual car/plane charger adapter.  Very cool stuff, I know it will come in handy for me as I hate air travel, anything to make it go smoother is awesome.

PriceDrop - Firefox Extension

Here’s more fun found at LifehackerPriceDrop.  It lets you track items on Amazon for price drops, and the advantage is all the details are stored locally, not on an external website.  Very useful to keep an eye on items for price guarantees.  There’s a somewhat similar web-based app called PriceProtectr that works for a multitude of stores.

Best When Used By

If you are the sort of person who wants to make maximum use out of the food you buy, but always end up throwing your perishables away because of spoilage, check out Best When Used By.  Plug in the food you buy, the expiry date, and it will keep you up to date on how long you have.  The site also tracks when you eat or throw away the food to give a more accurate timeframe in the future for how long you should keep that particular food item.  It actually looks kind of neat for those of us obsessive list makers and info trackers.

Spacek Could Return Tomorrow

Jaroslav Spacek could get back into the lineup tomorrow night.  He just has to get in a full-contact practice before gametime.  Sekera would get the nod if Spacho-man is in the press box again.

I Already Like THIS Rypien Better Than That Other One

Mark Rypien’s cousin Rick steps in to Mike Commodore (aka Bozo the Clown) after a hit he didn’t like. The younger Rypien holds his own against a much larger opponent.
