Derek Roy a Sabre for 6 More Years
Jul 27, 2007 NHL
Darcy Regier and the Sabres signed RFA Derek Roy to a 6 year contract today, just before his arbitration hearing was to start. It is rumored to be worth 24 million dollars. Roy had 63 points centering the dangerous RAV line alongside 7 year man Thomas Vanek and Maxim Afinogenov (with Drew Stafford filling in ably when Max was out). He was fifth in the league in plus/minus at +37. Awesome to have him back, at only 24 he has a LOT of productive years ahead in the blue and yellow.
